About

I'm Tom - I like to design things that people can enjoy

I'm a hands-on Electronics Engineer with an affinity for sound, music and anything experiential.

SIEGER is the place where all of my personal projects live and breathe. I have been working full time as an Electronics Engineer for four years, building electronics for about eight or nine years and making all sorts of other things for as long as I can remember. I spent hours of my childhood making things in my Opa Sieger's garage before graduating to my own garage and adding electronics to the mix.

Nothing brings me the same kind of joy as designing something with people in mind; picturing how it will feel or sound, with complete understanding of how every interaction trickles back down to a handful of components is a kind of magic that will never lose its charm.

In my professional life I have been lucky to work on an number of products and systems in a very short period. I have designed, built, tested, repaired and documented all manner of things related to agriculture, automation, weather, IR image sensors, EO image sensors, motors, encoders, interlocks, gyroscopes, lasers, FPGAs, SOMs and more. I'm always learning, improving and finding ways to have fun.

All of this has been possible thanks to the incredibly talented people I've worked with and their trust and support towards me.
